Our Projects

I Made This core activities involve working with young people aged 8 -16 on the Autistic Spectrum or who experience other learning difficulties. Our overall aim is to provide opportunities to improve the lives and increase the skills base of these young people by helping them integrate and find a place in mainstream society. The project offers their parents respite and the peace of mind that their child is engaged in meaningful and creative activities.

We deliver approximately 100 sessions of our Adventures in Animation project per year in venues across Suffolk. Our core funding at present is provided by BBC Children In Need and The Big Lottery.

Adventures in Animation

Adventures in Animation is a project which has been carefully developed by I Made This for these sessions and involves computer-based animation delivered largely on a one to one basis but with a flexibility so that individual needs can always be met.

The project has been received with enthusiasm by caregivers and, most importantly, with great eagerness and excitement by our target group. Parents report that our project is often the only one that their child either enjoys taking part in, or, in fact, will take part in at all. Parents also report that attending the group has improved their child's ability to socialise and communicate more easily with their peers.

Past Projects

I Made This is a collective of media professionals and health professionals who work with people of all ages across our region. I Made This is based near Bungay in Suffolk, working within a state of the art audio/video facility.

The charity has produced a number of films dealing with important social issues like bullying, the lives of young adult carers, the role Children's Centers play in our family's lives and the transition from school to further education or work for young people with additional needs. We make carefully crafted training and publicity films for statutory bodies, other charities and non-profit organisations. We are interested in forming collaborative relationships with any other like-minded organisation to assist in promoting their cause through any form of media. Please visit www.youtube.com/user/imadethisuk and watch our films.

Our projects, past, present and ongoing, include work for, BBC Children in Need, The Big Lottery, Suffolk County Council, Waveney District Council, Brighter Futures, , , The British Library, HAT (The History of Advertising Trust) , Big Lottery Fund, Suffolk Foundation, Fisher Youth Theatre group, Suffolk Constabulary, R.N.L.I, LACESS and Gt Yarmouth and Waveney NHS, CAMHS and The Youth Offending Service.

How are the projects funded?

The core funding which allows I Made This to present the projects is constantly under great pressure and so, as with so many charitable bodies in the current financial climate, we must continually seek further and more diverse funding sources. We need to find new streams of funding, not only in ongoing support of our current activities but also to expand our services to those we identify would benefit greatly from our projects and are currently unable to access them.
